PROCESS / ReCulture Project Exhibition in Novi Sad

all news / 08.01.2024.

The ‘Process’ exhibition marks the culmination of the European project ‘ReCulture: Re-branding of Cultural Institutions in the Western Balkans.’ Over the past few months, our dedicated design teams, mentors, partners, and external collaborators have devoted their efforts wholeheartedly to preparing the project for its final stage. The results will be unveiled to the public through a meticulously crafted printed publication and a captivating traveling exhibition.

The exhibition features graphic presentations, installations, and video archives as a reflection of the three-year duration of the project in which the complete history, changes, and maturation of four cultural institutions of the Western Balkans are woven – The Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection in Novi Sad, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Republic of Srpska in Banja Luka, the Art Colony Danilovgrad, and the Cultural Center Trebinje.

Follow the ‘Process’ as it transforms and contributes to the diverse exhibition spaces of these institutions! Over the next four months, these cultural venues will showcase all that ReCulture embodies, aspires to be, and aims to endure through their new visual identities, setting examples of good practices in the region.

The exhibition kicks off its journey in Novi Sad, a city that reveres the artistic legacy of the Serbian diplomat Pavle Beljanski from the 20th century. From January 15 to 28, visitors can partake in organized guided tours. At the opening you will have the opportunity to engage with project participants and the design team that have tailored a new, diplomatic uniform for the 21st century for the Pavle Beljanski Memorial Collection.

The opening of the exhibition is on January 15 at 7 p.m., hosted at Dunavska Street 37.  It is intended for representatives of cultural institutions, students and young graphic designers, experienced creatives, and all admirers of creative work.

Due to ongoing reconstruction in the gallery space, the exhibition’s debut in the PBMC is not possible. We express our gratitude to the Museum of Vojvodina and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Vojvodina for their cooperation and providing the starting point for this traveling exhibition.

The exhibition’s creative minds include young designers Snežana Bulatović (ME), Arijana Kadić (ME), Luka Matić (BA), Stefan Tankov (MK), Milen Tišić (RS), and mentor Wolfgang Fiel (AT).

A special thanks to all proofreaders, reviewers, and the project’s art director for their outstanding contributions, turning the exhibition catalog into both an educational publication and an invaluable showpiece of this exhibition.
